Consultation on Multiple NEMO Arrangements

We wish to inform you that the Day Ahead and Intraday Proposals for arrangements concerning more than one Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) in the GB bidding zone is open for consultation.

In accordance with the requirements of Article 45 and 57 of Regulation (EC) 2015/1222 on Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management (CACM), common Proposals were developed by National Grid Interconnectors Limited, BritNed Development Limited, EirGrid Interconnector Limited and Moyle Interconnector Limited (collectively, ”the TSOs”) in cooperation with the NEMOs in the GB bidding zone regarding cross-zonal capacity allocation and other necessary arrangements in bidding zones where more than one NEMO is designated and/or offers trading services, and were submitted to the National Regulatory Authority for approval on 11 April 2016.  On 10 October 2016 the Authority requested that the Proposals be amended by the TSOs and resubmitted by 10 December 2016, in tandem with which (as part of this amendment phase) a stakeholder consultation is being conducted by the TSOs.

Accordingly, the consultation was launched on 18 November 2016 and remains open for responses until 28 November 2016.  Please refer to the suite of documents which can be accessed via the following link.

Please note that responses should be sent to gareth.pearce@nationalgrid.com. Please quote “CACM 45/57 Consultation” in the subject line. It is kindly requested that responses are written in English.

All responses will be treated as non-confidential unless stated otherwise. Respondents should clearly mark any part of their response which is to remain confidential. When responding, please state whether you are responding as an individual or representing the views of an organisation.  If responding on behalf of an organisation, please state which organisation and, where applicable, how the views of the members were collated.

Following receipt of responses the TSOs will prepare a summary of the feedback and publish this via an update on the website.  A revised (as necessary) version of the Proposals will then be resubmitted by the required date to the Authority for approval.
